Station Yard is a brownfield site located in Burneside adjacent to the railway line and is without any policy constraints to development. It is in a relatively “tucked away” location, but is adjacent to the railway halt, providing some potential. Its general appearance adds little in the way of positive benefits to local character.

The site provides an opportunity to make the most effective use of previously developed land. It is envisaged that it could provide for both houses and commercial development, possibly taking advantage of the rail halt. There is a good opportunity for a high quality new development to enhance the appearance of this part of the village.
